This winery is located in the cellars of San Giovanni, at the base of the brim of Monte Generoso (Ticino). The building consists of a traditional construction, with stone walls and pitched roof. Downstairs is situated a basement living area, with fireplace and vaulted ceiling to a head of hollow bricks, which leads to the cellar with a barrel vault in stones, reserved for the storage of wine and cold cuts. The entrance to the upper floor can be approached by a new scale from the basement, or outside, where there is an entrance hall, which also serves for other wineries. Upstairs are placed a fireplace room and a room previously used as a warehouse. The property was abandoned with degradation of the plaster, tile floors, wooden doors and windows; asbestos roof tiles had to be restored. The object has been subjected to a reconstruction with the objective of the improvements needed to make the use more comfortable, by keeping the original plant. The intervention involved the recovery of the entire property, service units (kitchen and bathroom) and the exploitation of the great height on the upper floor, to create a space loft under the pitched roof, which serves as a sleeping area and / or relaxation area. In particular, work was performed by internal and external makeover relatively to 'plaster, paint, water and sewage connections to the municipal grid, electrical and sanitary works, tiller tiling, new roof with thermal insulation and plumbing, supply and installation of windows, doors and shutters.
